Popis

Provision of an excellent Finance service is a core objective of the GL Accounting Team. This role leads one of three Regional General Ledger teams to deliver a consistently accurate, timely, and SOX-compliant close, and to proactively identify and implement opportunities for further improvements to the close process.

The GL Team Lead is highly organised with excellent communication, planning and time management skills. They have the ability to manage and respond to input from, and expectations of a wide range of internal and external contributors and stakeholders (Business Service Centre Teams, Business Unit Controllers, Finance Business Partners, Internal and External Auditors and other third party service providers and regulatory bodies). They are commercially aware and have an in-depth understanding of business operations, business and finance systems and have a good working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS. They are confident in their leadership skills and ability to motivate, delegate and organise the team to meet all objectives. The GL Team Lead is able to design and implement new processes where required in order to ensure the provision of the highest quality of service.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, train and lead the GL team on a daily basis, manage performance expectations and employee engagement
• Create and manage suitable Service Level Agreements in partnership with internal and external customers
• Manage relationships and expectations with other internal stakeholders (AR, AP, Payroll, C&B, country finance) to ensure timely resolution of issues, the efficient running of the department and accuracy of information
• Improve existing, or create and implement new processes which enable the team to deliver the highest quality of service possible
• Ensure consistent application of CDK Global Accounting Policies and procedures in relation to CDKI accounting, reporting and monthly close requirements
• Identify accounting issues requiring resolution and propose solutions, or (where specialist technical input is required) escalate to the Deputy Controller and / or the Technical Accounting Manager, as appropriate, and monitor resolution to ensure timely closure of issues.
• Oversee and control the monthly close process to ensure accurate recording of business transactions in cooperation with Business Unit Controllers
• Lead the Balance Sheet reconciliation process and manage the team to provide high-quality detailed analyses and reviews on a periodic basis
• Supervise the timely provision of accurate financial accounting documentation to comply with legal, audit and SOX requirements
• Own the timely preparation and submission of financial reporting of the company results on a monthly basis, including statutory accounting submissions, IFRS, USGAAP, VAT and INTRASTAT and other country-specific returns
• Act as a NAV Key User and carry out Key User responsibilities as specified, including providing training and support to team members on NAV
• Proactive involvement in ongoing business improvement projects
• Ad hoc financial analysis and investigation, reporting and planning


Skills / Knowledge & Experience

• USGAAP and/or IFRS experience essential
• At least 5 years of Bookkeeping/financial accounting/reporting essential
• Experience of working with Navision ERP or other finance systems required
• Demonstrable experience of managing a successful team
• Experience of working for a multinational, multi-currency company would be advantageous
• Experience of working in a shared service centre would be advantageous
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively

Qualifications required - Essential
• University degree in accounting/finance (or related discipline) and/or formal professional accounting/finance qualification
• Proficient in English language
• Other language skills advantageous
